Little Creek Production Based Farm Flock
Little Creek Texel Sheep Texel Sheep are a unique breed. They are such good converters of grass to muscle cutting out the need for so much grain finishing. The ewes are easy to maintain and require much less feed then more traditional American breeds. They are medium to small framed sheep therefore they need less feed to maintain themselves. One of our favorite characteristics of the breed is the wonderful mothering ability that they have. We don't have ewes that drop their lambs and walk away looking for the hay feeder. We demand that our ewes do their jobs, have lots of milk, and consistently twin year after year. Texel sheep are also docile and very gregarious when it comes to moving and handling. We occasionally have breeding stock available. Contact us early in the summer for availability. Or check our for sale page. |

Little Creek Commerical Crosses Hybrid vigor from crossing our Texels with Dorsets and Border Leicesters is trememdous. The market/feeder lambs that we produce year after year are growthy, and produce a meaty carcass. Ewes that we have held back and added to the flock produce superb lambs and continue with good mothering and milking. We occasionally will have ewes available. Contact us early in the summer if you are interested in adding some to your flock. |

Little Creek Border Leicesters In the fall of 08 we added Border Leicesters from the Sudan Farm in Candy, Oregon to our flock. We are very impressed not only with their wool quality, but also their great mothering and milking ability. We look forward to adding more of these genetics to our flock. |

Our Feeding and
Health Philosophy:
Our sheep are raised on pasture/range conditions. We raise and believe in
sheep that can gain and maintain on forage feeds rather then high
concentrate expensive grain feeds. We do not believe in "show style" sheep
that are raised artificially on "complete" feeds in small confined
pens and never taste green grass. The
health of our flock is important and taking it one step further to insure a
"clean " flock we enrolled into the Volunteer Scrapie Program
in December of 2000 (OR59) and became
Certified Scrapie Free May 2008.
A
Bit of Our Sheep History

In the fall of 2000 we purchased are first five Texel ewes. We have since added various bloodlines including some
Dutch style Texels from Canada. In the fall of 2008 we added some unique
Border Leicester genetics from Sudan Farms also Certified Scrapie free and
located here in Oregon to improve our wool quality.
